AAMFT Webinar: Systemic Ethics Textbook
Ethics in Couple and Family Therapy CFT Ethics: What Are You Standing On?
Thursday, September 12 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. EST
Drawing on the opening chapter of the recently published AAMFT Systemic Ethics Textbook (Zimmerman & Castronova, 2024) this webinar will explore the five foundational principles for ethical practice and decision making. The foundational principles include:
1) The AAMFT Code of Ethics, State Laws and Regulations
2) AAMFT Core Competencies
3) Current CFT Literature
4) Practicing as a socially just therapist
5) Relational Ethics
This presentation will address the 5 areas using case studies in order for the participants to apply these essential areas to scenarios that are complex and require thoughtful inquiry. Therapists who stand on these 5 are standing on a firm ground. Therapists who are only standing on one or some of these may be practicing on shaky ground.
Come participate in this timely presentation and dialogue. All are welcome.
